I WANT TO BE YOUNG FOREVER

Miu Miu’s collection was the last much anticipated highlight of Paris Fashion
Week 2009. The collection was apparently inspired by la bourgeoisie. I would call it more like Neanderthal-Chic.

Fox furs were draped diagonally across models chests and ethnic prints featured heavily on baggy shift dresses. This mixture just didnt work somehow, and all the dresses opened bizarrely at the front, exposing models bras. This really didnt look sexy though, it just looked awkward, the baggy dangling material looked lost, like it was just badly put together.

Then came an overdose of rhinestone embroidery all rather oddly placed on boring tops and long pencil skirts that made all the models looked old beyond their years.

This show from Miu Miu felt like it lacked a really strong vision. They didnt know what they wanted to be. Hopefully Miuccia Prada gets the Miu Miu identity back on track for spring/summer 2010!
